Hand painted by artist Heather Johnsgaard, this birdhouse measures approximately 8.5 X 6 inches at its highest and widest points.
Painted with acrylic paints, the birdhouse has also been sealed with 3 coats of exterior varnish. It features a painted fairy door, small flowers, and bright red mushrooms.
Hanging cord, along with the embellishing cord, is a tactile cord which resists mold and mildew and is extremely strong.
Two little beads also embellish the cord.
While this is a fully functioning birdhouse, it is recommended as a decorative piece for your home or gazebo to preserve its beauty for years to come. It does not have a clean out door. Most birds will clean out old nests themselves the following years. There are 3 drain holes at the bottom and two air holes at the top. Opening is sized at 1.25 inches, perfect for a variety of our northern birds. No perch is provided to help prevent predators.
Should you wish to place it outside, we recommend a shaded spot, and we also recommend giving it a coat of varnish each year.
